SUNDAY WORSHIP

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Worship service lasts about one hour. It is a time full of worship songs (both contemporary and traditional), prayer, and teaching/reflection on God’s Word. It is a casual setting with no dress code. You won’t be called upon to introduce yourself or speak. You’re welcome to whisper to your neighbor in the pew, have your phone out (especially if you’re using it to look at the Bible passage we’re discussing), doodle on your bulletin, and you’re highly encouraged to laugh exuberantly at the preacher’s horrible jokes.

COMMUNION

At the center of every Central Christian Church worship service is a participation in the Lord’s Supper (communion). Jesus commanded His disciples to partake of bread and wine in remembrance of His body and blood which was shed for us on the Cross. The Church began observing this command on Sunday mornings in celebration of Christ’s resurrection right from it’s inception. Central Christian Church carries on this apostolic practice by passing unleavened bread and grape juice every Sunday. This moment in our worship service is full of prayer and reflection. We invite anyone who has Jesus Christ as Lord to partake in communion with us at Central Christian Church.

KIDS

Central Christian Church loves kids—whether we have a few or a crowd.
We may not have a large group of children right now, but we treasure the ones we do have. Children are a vital part of our church family, and we look forward to growing alongside new families in the future. At Central, we believe it’s important to help kids feel welcomed and loved as they learn what it means to worship God.

We offer Children’s Church during the Sunday morning service, where kids can engage with Scripture, songs, and hands-on activities designed just for them.

Kids may be quiet or wiggly, curious or full of questions—we welcome it all! We believe church should be a place where children feel safe, seen, and part of something bigger than themselves.

Nursery – We have a nursery available for babies and toddlers every Sunday during the full worship service, staffed by trusted volunteers from Central Christian Church.

Worship begins at 10:45 a.m. every Sunday morning at Central Christian Church, located just across from the high school at 24th & O Street in Belleville.

We’re a church family of about 70 people, right here in the heart of Republic County. Whether you’ve been to church your whole life or haven’t stepped inside one in years, you won’t feel out of place. You’ll be greeted with smiles, handshakes, and more than a few friendly faces; chances are, you’ll even recognize someone.

Come and experience worship that is heartfelt, Scripture-centered, and grounded in community. We’d love to meet you.
